Bats bats bats in Charlotte NC

In North Carolina, homeowners only have approximately 2 months left to remove bats before we enter their protected mating season. Between May 1 and July 31, wildlife agents, animal removal companies and homeowners are not legally able to remove, disturb or evict bats. Please do not misunderstand, if a bat is present or seen in your living space for example on the curtain in your living room, you absolutely can and should call animal control or a wildlife removal company.

Top signs that you may have a bat colony in or around your home:

1. You see bats at sunrise or sunset flying out of your attic, gable vent or roof.

2. Bat Droppings / guano on roof, ledges, window sills or gable vents.

3. A strong smell of ammonia or urine often noticeable in the attic.

4. Squeaky / chirping or scratching sounds.

5. Brown or dark oily stains at entry points and exits.
